Proud & honored to serve the diverse communities of the 37th!

In a moment marked by targeted federal hostility towards the very communities that define the 37th, rapidly rising costs, and continued threats of displacement, I remain committed to the work ahead with conviction and compassion.

Reelect ✽ Sharon Tomiko Santos ✽ Washington State House ✽ 37LD ✽

In 1998, Representative Santos was elected to the Washington State House of Representatives, becoming the first Japanese American woman elected to a mainland state legislature.

For more than two decades, she has represented the 37th Legislative District with a focus on:

  • Protecting longtime communities from displacement and helping more people stay housed in the neighborhoods they call home.

  • Strengthening public education and expanding opportunity for students and families.

  • Protecting civil rights and immigrant communities.

  • Advancing economic, criminal, and environmental justice.

Representative Santos’s

Priorities for District 37

  • Prevent displacement, expand affordable housing near transit, and help more people get and stay housed.

  • Invest in students, educators, and families through stronger schools, affordable childcare, and workforce development.

  • Investing in community-led violence prevention, behavioral health response, and long-term mental health and substance use disorder treatment.

  • Build safer, more connected neighborhoods through reliable public transit, pedestrian safety, and transit-first housing growth.

  • Protect workers, support small businesses, and expand pathways to economic opportunity.
